HISTORY OF THE HOUSE
Step into the rich history of our historic house, whose origins date back to the late 15th century. The name "Waidbäck" already hints at the deep roots and stories our house has to tell.
The first notable owner, who acquired the house and the surrounding vineyards in 1617, was Sigmund Greiff.
To this day, his coat of arms with his initials and the year 1625 can still be seen on the entrance gate. Over the centuries, the house changed hands several times.
In the 19th century, it came into the possession of the Waid family of bakers, who ran a bakery and general store here until the mid-20th century.
After facing economic challenges, the family sold the property, which was ultimately acquired in 1956 by the Enderle family — by my grandfather Albin.
In 2020, my father Otmar and I made a bold decision: we chose to renovate the old farmhouse and breathe new life into it. Our vision was to preserve the historical essence while creating a modern retreat for our guests.
Following extensive renovations, the house now shines in new splendor and is ready to welcome guests from all over the world. We are proud to carry on the long tradition of this building and turn it into a place of connection, relaxation, and peace.The “Nussbaum” is not only a place of history, but also a sanctuary of comfort and rest. My father Otmar is a passionate fruit grower and wine enthusiast. With his extensive expertise and deep love for agriculture, he dedicates himself wholeheartedly to cultivating our orchards and producing our own wines. Otmar looks forward to offering you guided tours of our orchards during your stay and taking you on a journey through the variety of our wines during tastings.
